Spring is in the air in Sacramento! Well, the precursor to spring at least: buds on trees and oh-so slightly longer days. But it’s still winter in the mountains! I got stuck in a blizzard driving home from Tahoe on Sunday. The typically two-hour drive took ten hours!

We could barely see the lifts at Homewood on Sunday! Whiteouts every minute or so, fierce wind, and deep powder…
That’s me checking out a 5-foot drop on the backside of Kirkwood a couple of weekends ago. Notice my new purple helmet! Safety first!

I’m going to be sad to see winter go, but there’s so much to look forward to in spring and summer. Swimming in the river, hiking in the moutains, and Eppie’s race in July. Supposedly the world’s oldest triathlon, Eppie’s consists of a run, bike, and paddle. I participated last year on a team, doing the run, but this year I plan to do the whole thing. Stay tuned for updates!
